Founded in 2005 by Rob Jungmann, Jungmaven is a sustainable hemp clothing brand based in Los Angeles, California. Jungmann strongly believes in working with hemp for multiple reasons. Hemp is a natural fiber that’s cultivated with low impact on the environment. It requires no irrigation, uses no pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds. It’s one of the most durable natural fibers on the planet and results in a fabric with a wonderful hand. Hemp also scrubs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Jungmaven’s mission is to “get everyone in a hemp tee by 2020.”

The shop will be hosting special events on Thursday 4/20 and Saturday 4/22 for Earth Day in which friends and customers are invited to swing by the store throughout the day and into the evening for unique beverages, hemp-based food, music and more. In honor of Earth Day, the evening’s events will take place by candlelight.

“Here at Westerlind, we place great value on nature and exploring the outdoors. Not only is hemp a durable and breathable fabric – perfect for a camping trip, a journey to the beach or a walk through Manhattan on a hot summer day – but it also promotes sustainable living as the farming, production and care of hemp is far more environmentally friendly than its common alternative,” notes Isabelle Ohman Cirillo, marketing manager for Westerlind. “Being based out of New York City, there is a demand for environmentally conscious and sustainable products and a lack of retailers and suppliers in this area. Therefore, collaborating with Jungmaven is an exciting opportunity and a no brainer for us at Westerlind.”

Jungmaven also sells some unique side-products, such as hemp sheets and duvets, hemp terry towels, bandanas and even an American Hemp Seed Kit which can be view here.

The Westerlind x Jungmaven pop-up is located at 209 Mott Street, NoLita, open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday 11:30am-7.30pm and Sunday 12-7pm for the month of April. The Earth Day events will take place on 4/20 and 4/22, throughout the day and into the night.
