What is CBD Micro-Dosing?

The older we get, the more health issues we have. The more health issues we have, the more medications we need to take. It can be incredibly frustrating. Now, with CBD readily available, we can cut down on some of those short-acting medicines with one simple, non-addictive natural chemical.

But what you might not realize is that CBD can be even more effective in tiny doses throughout the day? And, by doing this you can avoid taking any more of the cannabinoid than you have to to get peak efficiency.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid that has been derived from cannabis sativa. It acts as a mild sedative that has a lot of health benefits, from reducing anxiety to relieving pain to lowering your heart rate. It’s what gives you a relaxed feeling when you smoke weed.

As a cannabinoid, it binds to the endocannabinoid receptors all throughout the human body and helps bring each of those systems back to a state of rest, which is the best place for them to be.

How Can CBD Help You?

CBD has been known to help people with anxiety, depression, epilepsy, high blood pressure, nausea, chronic pain, acute pain, and immune disorders. By using CBD products, you could reduce your reliance on short-acting prescription medications and help yourself to feel better little by little.

What is a Common Dose of CBD?

Typically, you would take one or two doses to bring you to the dosage that brings you the effect you want. This dosage can range from 10 mg of CBD to 50 mg, depending on your weight and what you want from your CBD.

What is Micro-Dosing?

Instead of taking fewer large doses, when you microdose, you take a small amount of CBD every few hours over the course of the day. This slowly builds up the amount of CBD in your system and helps to keep you feeling good all day long. It can also reduce the chances of building up a resistance to CBD, which is possible, by cutting down how much you take. By taking a little bit at a time, you’ll notice exactly when it starts to work and you can take as much as you need to keep feeling those effects but no more.

What Should You Do Before Trying Micro-Dosing?

Stop Taking CBD

Before you try micro-dosing, you’ll need to stop using CBD for a few days in order to return to your base levels. This helps the CBD to evacuate your system in order for you to figure out exactly when the CBD kicks in and starts to help. You don’t need to wean yourself off of CBD and can stop cold turkey, but you might feel better if you do wean yourself off.

Talk to Your Doctor

As always when taking a new medicine or health supplement, you need to consult your doctor. Even though CBD is non-addictive and naturally occurring, you can still have some unfortunate side effects, especially when it comes to pre-existing medical conditions and medications.

What Should You Watch Out For?

Kidney and Liver issues

If you have a history of kidney or liver issues, CBD might not be right for you. It is metabolized there and can cause more strain than you can handle.

Medication Interactions

Some medications do not work well with CBD and others will amplify the cannabinoid’s effects. To make sure you won’t have any unintended effects from your CBD microdose, talk to your doctor before you try it.
